I'm usually a rum and coke man, although I am also fond of certain beers and the occasional mixed vodka drink, sangria, and in rare instances a Bloody Mary. I never got into drugs, they never held any interest for me. I probably would have made an exception for weed but I was probably too chicken at first and then passing on it just became second nature. Sometimes I kinda regret not just giving it a try.

Well, I'm using it.

Great non-superhero films to look forward to this year?
The Maker replied to RamonAtila's topic in Entertainment
I'm kinda looking forward to Free Fire, looks like a fun, frenetic shoot-'em-up. -
So are we!

I wasn't disappointed. Like others, I thought it was the weakest of the set so far, but that doesn't mean I thought it was bad. I quite enjoyed it, it's just that DD and JJ have set very high bars, is all. Loved the fights in the 6th episode, it had an almost 'A Game of Death' feel to it.

I really enjoyed the movie, it was so well done. Especially amazing performances from Patrick Stewart and young miss Dafne Keen, I swear they must have made her study Hugh's performance in the first X-film. My only real complaint is a thematic point, that Xavier's dream of peaceful coexistence between mutants and humans effectively and utterly failed. As a longtime X-Men fan, that point is a huge downer for me when looking upon the series as a whole. I thought that was Liev Schriber for a split second, as well!

I thought I was Mandard.

Resurrecting deceased actors via CGI.... ethical or not ?
The Maker replied to the trumpet player 2's topic in Star Wars
He killed Han. There IS NO redemption for him. Okay I still have feelings about this. -
I am heartbroken for their family.

How out in the sticks are we talking? In Nebraska, it's all relative. They live in Iowa, out in the country about an hour's drive from my place in the west end of Omaha. It's a nice drive with lots of pretty countryside, even in the winter (except for the nocturnal suicide deer that like to test drivers' reflexes).

Last night: had a few drinks with my best bro, just the two of us at our favorite psuedo-Irish pub. Today: I had lunch with my nephew and we watched Rogue One. Tonight: dinner with my best bro's family and Christmas gifts for their kids. Tomorrow: Christmas dinner with the family at my parents' house out in the sticks. Sunday: Christmas morning and brunch with the family at my sister's house. Monday: spend all day in my recliner (hopefully).

Just finished it and absolutely loved it. It was like a love letter to early Spielberg, Stephen King, and John Carpenter.

I'm in the process of reading this book, and I am really impressed with the author's ability to capture Leia's voice--it has made reading even the politically-heavy content very enjoyable. And it is written SO MUCH better than Aftermath. I was really looking forward to that book, but the resulting poor quality product was such a turn-off that I will very likely skip the rest of Wendig's trilogy.
