  1. Everything I've heard, in interviews, and even in the Gallery series, points to Pascal only ever being in the suit maybe once during S1, and that was for the helmet off face reveal. Every other time, it was either John Wayne's grand-son for the general walking and gunplay, and Lateef Crowder for the leaping, jumping, diving and hand-to-hand combat.

Dunno about you, but I had a very, very similar dolly and me Care Bears sleepshirt in 1986. Yes, I do feel very old right now. Also, fun fact, 1986 is when I got my Samantha Parkington doll, if I recall correctly.

I was born in 1986 and I have grey hairs.

  3. I have 3 cats, one tortie, one semi-feral tabbie, and a long-hair chonker who loves to whinge and try and play with the other two but they hate him and will hiss and attack when he tries to play. Poor bastard.

I have a cat called Bootsy. She's nuts. She's an Essex road cat, so I imagine she has a thick cockney chav accent to other cats.

As someone from South London, nah bruv. Essex ain't Cockney. Do one. Or, as they say norf of the border, git tae fook.

  4. Yeah...everyone I know who knows Star Wars enough to know the names of Luke, Leia, Han, Chewie and Vader, all know who Boba Fett is. Even my non-SW fan partner knows who he is, and I don't talk about him all that often. Sounds to me like you've just had bad experiences with the fandom.

  5. My respect for Jango is based on what he managed to actually do on screen. Boba followed Han Solo, watched as he got frozen, then took him Jabba, and when they were trying to bust him out, flew over to Luke, managed to grapple him, but when got taken out by accident and was eaten by a stationary squid. All in two movies.

Jango followed and sniped Zam Wessell, took on Obi-Wan Kenobi in single combat and arguably came out on top, bombed the shit out of an asteroid field to get rid of pursuit, helped capture Anakin and Padme, straight up shot the shit out of a Jedi that tried to surprised Dooku, set Mace Windu on fire, killed a reek after it trampled him, before being beheaded by Mace after his jetpack malfunctioned. All in one movie. There's also an argument to be made that he also killed the Jedi Order, since it was his clones that executed Order 66. Boba is overrated, but a lot of his legend was built up in the EU that's now no longer canon, so it'll be interesting to see if any of that makes it in to the new canon. Someone has already mentioned the guy from the Aftermath books that found Mandalorian armour in the desert (which was really supposed to be Boba's armour), so it's implied that he is dead, but if that IS him in S1, it'll be real interesting to hear what happened. Knowing the new LFL, we'll either get a limited series comic or a book telling us what happened to him post ROTJ/pre-Mandalorian.

  6. I used to play the trumpet when I was in school. I was in the school orchestra, as well as two different youth orchestras in my town, one of which was supposed to be quite famous (I performed at a famous local venue a whole bunch of times), but I got sick of how much of my time it took up, and ended up quitting it completely just before I left for university and I haven't picked up a trumpet since. Probably wouldn't last five minutes if I tried to play again, lip stamina is a real thing for brass players, and was another reason I stopped playing (the third big one being that I just was nowhere near as good as my peers - despite being the first trumpet in both orchestras, I was there almost purely because of seniority and experience as I was one of the oldest kids in the orchestra). I always wanted to play bass, but never got around to it. Probably won't, it's just one of those things, and I'll always envy people who can just pick up an instrument and play something amazing, despite knowing full well that I'm seeing the product of years and years of practice backed by a lot of skill, passion, and rhythm.

  7. Ever since ROTS, I've always maintained that Jango is far cooler than Boba ever was. I actively dislike the Boba fanboys, yet I'm very much a Mandalorian fanboy myself. The Mandalorian fandom itself has been growing steadily for years now, and it kinda feels like vindication/validation that LFL saw that part of the fandom growing and decided to give us something. Filoni himself is a part of the Mando fandom, because he was the one that helped bring it to life with his TCW and Rebels episodes based on Mandalore, a lot of which helped bring Mandalorian history back in canon after the Disney Legends reboot, as well as giving us more to boot.

I'm really hoping we get a trailer tomorrow, considering how the series is releasing in less than 2 months and we've had NOTHING but a couple of set photos from Gina Carano and Robert Rodriguez.

  8. I'm not into the comics either, and the new EU novels have been, for the most part, a bit rubbish. I'm still interested tho, primarily to see how successful it ends up being and where they go with it, ie. will it branch out in to games and TV series (animated or live-action).

  9. I think that's what they're trying to do with the new High Republic stuff that's coming, seeing the Jedi and the Republic at their golden height, facing what's been described as Space Vikings. I'd be very surprised if they don't throw some Sith in there though.

  10. I think Jedi, the force, all that has been done to death..it's not special anymore. I feel like some mystery needs to be brought back to it(the force/Jedi/sith), and having force users appearances happening in sparse punctuated moments rather than being a central focus to a show could be helpful.

I think this is why Rogue One was so good. The Force stuff was treated like an old cult being kept alive by a funny monk and his protector/friend, and the focus was far more on the human stories behind the Rebellion. It's partly why I'm really hoping we'll see more SW content that doesn't include the Jedi. I will always hope for a Band of Brothers style series following Rebel or Imperial during the Civil War, something like what they did in the first Battlefront book, Twilight Company.
