One warrior killing dozens of enemies in a sword fight, especially when it is a movie set in antiquity.
Missiles doing nothing against Hulk or Iron Man or whatever.
Technology that is completely out of the realm of human capability and is against fundamental laws on the universe. I understand Iron Man has this super power source, but where is all the heat going? And in Infinity Wars the suit is self-assembling nano robots??
Unlimited ammo
Not to nit pick cause I largely agree but I'm going to pick some nits...
I can get past the chainmail wearing Ubermensch warrior taking out scores of enemies single-handed, cause from what I've heard a well trained and seasoned mideaval warrior could be worth at least half a dozen regular men at arms, and a half dozen more untrained levies. But what I can't get past is how few men at arms wear actual fucking chainmail or armour in supposedly historical TV series. They're all in some crazy waffle knit leather patchwork stuff that looks ridiculous!

Yep. Sliding on into middle age with my health, sanity? intact it seems.
Also I've just realised it means I've been posting at nightly under various guises for... 23 years or so... crazy

Every now and again ill read something. I know I should read more. I used to read a lot, but since games have been getting better and better I've found them to be my favourite way to consume narrative. I listen to a lot of podcasts so consume a lot of non fiction in that way.

NORAD having an official Santa GPS tracker is some god-tier gaslighting/deception tactics. Kids don't stand a chance for truth with that level collaboration.
Makes ya wonder...

Yeah that's fair. Some of those natural wines are spenny. Like you can get half decent conventional wine for £10-£12 but naturals the average price for something tasty seems to be closer to £18. They're definitely treats more for immediate close family rather than second cousins and aunts and stuff.

I don't know if it's a trope or just shitty writing.. but I hate series where they add twist after twist after twist. It happens a lot in edgy netflix crime dramas.. but wait here's another twist, and anoyher twist, and before you know it all logic and plot is tied up in knots

Bullying sucks. Particularly since the only way to make it stop (with boys at least) is violence, and then that doesn't always work and sometimes can make things worse.
I got bullied in school a lot by this particular kid and it didn't stop till I snapped and punched him in the face a few times. I then ran away and cried cause I felt bad. But the bullying stopped.
My wife was getting bullied when she was a kid too and asked her dad what to do. He was like, "ahh just punch him in the face and tell him where to go". So she did. Got in trouble with the school as did her dad but the bullying stopped.
But then a guy I know stood up for himself and bet up his bully, then the bully came back with a crew of friends and ganged up on him. But he went to a tough school. Middle class and posh kids are generally ******* though and violent reaction usually shocks them enough to stop. It's kids that get violence in their day to day that shrug that sort of thing off.
This is terrible advice so ignore me.
Unless you get Q into jiu-jitsu or judo. Then she could safely put someone in their place. More a preventative measure really. When my son turns 5 we are going to get him into jiu-jitsu. If for no other reason to help expend that kinetic boy energy that is constantly on the boil.

To be fair farmers and hunters use horses all the time, particularly in mountainous terrain.
Also rebel moon looks terrible. I've read some pretty funny user reviews. But the general consensus seems to be a 13 year old boy must've written it.

Finished the game this evening! Simply superb! 114 hours on the clock and did all the side quests I could find - I’m sure there are ones I will have missed, but felt a real good conclusion to the story!
Such a great game - level of detail is astonishing!
Im glad you had a blast!
I'm replaying it as a heroic barbarian.
My first play through I went as indulging the dark urge evil character and it is so drastically different it's crazy.

Talisker- is a very nice single malt from Skye around £40-£50 (from memory)a bottle and it looks classy.
https://www.malts.com/en-row/brands/talisker
Personally I prefer Japanese whiskey than scotch, it's generally way smoother but more often they are blend than single malt. I'm not a whisky nerd but I generally don't like whiskey that makes me feel like it's trying to make me prove how much of a man I am by drinking it.
if you can find it I highly recommend Yamazaki, which is a single malt. Might be creeping up in the more expensive territory though
My neighbour who is a proper scotch nerd says 12 year old is the magic number. Something about 12year aged single malt makes it way smoother than younger whiskeys. I don't know why, but he had some long winded answer why

Awesome! I would have bought the 4xe, but I think it was Odine that made the good point about the lower towing capacity.
You need to get this. I LOVE mine. I can open and close the top on the fly, while driving in seconds.
Think that might've been Goatman not me

It'll probably be a longer wait for a PC release too since they seem to do consoles first which is a bummer for me

How's the insurance on EVs? Cause in the UK it's gone up massively because it's so expensive to repair litterally anything with EVs. People finding minor prangs effecting battery costing £10k and companies not paying out etc

GTA VI trailer release baby
Fuck yeah, thats on the list of anticipated games. Might need some new pc parts for this one.

If you hate it, what sucks you back in?
Oh--I also play Total War: Warhammer 1-3.
It is fantasy, not 40K though. Can you recommend a few 40k games?
Inquisitor Martyr is an ok ARPG, but other than that I'm not too familiar with 40k games. I know there is a new space marine FPS in the works which will be epic, and this new Rogue Trader from Owlcat is meant to be awesome. But it's an Isometric turn based RPG so may not tick all your boxes

Did you try throwing it out the window?

I'm surprised Shane made it as long as he did.
I saw the Pogues play a Xmas show in Belfast about 10 years ago. It was raucous and amazing. So many pints of Guinness aloft in the mosh pit without being spilled

Tami prolly still using a mouse with a ball in it.

UPCOMING GAMES IM EYEING:
Warhammer 40k: Rogue Trader... Looks pretty sweet and is out December. Made by owlcat games who made Pathfinder WotR and Pathfinder Kingmaker.
Dragons Dogma 2: a Japanese take on western fantasy action RPG. Looks like a blend of dark souls combat, lord of the rings and Skyrim. 3rd person open world action. The first game was amazing, so no doubt this one will be awesome too.
Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines 2: cautiously eyeing this one. I love the ttrpg and the first bloodlines from 2004. This has had so much development hell that I'm a bit wary though. Not sure the current Dev is up to task but I'm dearly hoping.
And in the distant future, I'm looking forward to the release of Squadron 42.. the single player game developed in parallel with star citizen. It's feature complete and in polish stage now.

That's a shame cause this is hands down maybe the best game I've played. I can't think of any that's been a better experience. It got me to stop playing Skyrim and that's saying something
It's like what I imagined the future of isometric RPGs could be back when I was a kid in the 90s only BG3 surpasses my imaginations of future gaming by a long shot. But it recaptures the wonderment felt when you dived into an epic RPG of yesteryear. It has nostelgia but it feels cutting edge the whole time. (Aside from a few inventory management annoyances)
There are a few puzzles but nothing super duper hard. If you get stuck you can always just find a guide online. Combat is super fun even though it's turn based. You just have to switch you brain into a tactical kind of way of thinking. Enjoy the limitless ways to approach the combat. I would say definitely play it if you can afford it, if only to not miss out on a landmark title. And everything else about it is absolutely cinematic.
I played divinity original sin and DOS2 and while I thought the second was very well made, it didn't land with me and I quit half way. I had no such issues with BG3. This game is not as punishing. Fights can be challenging but they're never really annoying. The environmental hazards are there but toned down. In essence it's DOS2 gameplay but tweaked with the DnD5 ruleset (which is the most casual friendly and ruleset yet) and it has a broad appeal. There is a reason it's doing so well. It's nowhere near as frustrating as Elden Ring for example.
It's just so engaging. I'm gonna go play some now...

Starfield I think averaged about a 7/10 from the places I frequent for reviews. PC gamer and IGN. Because yeah it's a blockbuster. The production value is high and it is the most "polished" a Bethesda game has ever been. So it would be unfair to give it a 5. Angry Joe (who I love cause he's such a nerd) gave it a 6 which seems fair to me. I'm sure there are some legit moment to moment good times... Just no magic as it were
Tropes you like
