  4. It sucks. I would much rather start my day earlier than stay late, though. It sucks even more because there are people who live in other time zones who aren't handling these states. It makes a ton more sense to have someone in Mountain time handle the west coast. And people get understandably pissed about not being able to reach me. I was okay with doing this short term, but long term it really sucks.

  6. I’m a little nervous about having 4 kids in our house, and I don’t think we’re in a position to get a bigger house unless we’re willing to move farther away, which wouldn’t be bad in terms of work, since I’m permanently remote, but we’ve really settled into the area. We’re settled in a church and school that are just a few blocks away, so moving would have to be in the neighborhood to really meet our needs. And short of winning the lottery, we’re not getting there. We could probably finish some work on our house and sell for $300k or more, which is more than double what we owe on our mortgage,

  8. Saw Halloween Kills Thursday night. Enjoyed the kills even though the victims seemed extra stupid in this. Of course stupid victims is a popular horror trope, so, while I'm also no horror enthusiast, they felt extra moronic. And everything in and around the hospital felt boring, slow, and contrived. Despite all that, I still had fun watching it.

  9. It has been leaf blower season next door for about six weeks now. Last weekend they courteously blew the leaves off our driveway ... and left them piled in our yard. Today they started blowing the leaves around and around their yard (and yes, both of them are outside with the big ol' airplane engine TornadoEF5 model blowers they need for their postage-stamp-sized yard) at 8:00 am and they're still going strong at 9:40. Also neighborlady pauses to yell instructions at neighborman who's happily puffing away like The Big Bad Wolf hopped up on meth and steroids. She has a voice that sounds like a

Like literally. I am functioning on 2 hours of sleep because today is dialysis day so I was up at 4 AM. Tina and I both of dental anxiety and the way the run those offices makes dental anxiety worse. Like if you schedule an extraction at 9 AM at least have the decency to schedule the tech/dental assistant who is going to show up to do it.

  13. I am also wondering if your faith plays a role. Some people are more comfortable with death because of their faith and/or the beliefs of the deceased. Leading up to my uncle passing, he was firm that he was unafraid of death because of his faith. He faced it fearlessly and with open arms. His family was still heartbroken but I think it did help somewhat. It was a comfort to me, although I wasn't that inner circle. Also, if you're not afraid of death yourself, I think that also shapes how you mourn. I mean, you did cry about your dad. Its not like you never shed a single tear.

Ember Moon is lost in the mix right now. Ivy Nile showed how green she is in her first match. They need to change her finisher. She's way to short for a torture rack like finish.

Is the reason they forwarded the email that they are expecting your boss to amend their behavior? It sounds like your work is full of evil bees. Can you start making a plan to exit sometime in the future? If they're refusing to accommodate ADA compliance, depending on the size of the workplace *and* refusing to do so does not create an undue hardship for them, you have strong legal grounds for a lawsuit.

Keep bookshelves and have them frame the TV, which is what we did in the old old house from our newlywed years. Family room gets a pool table, and we install a bar in the space where there is currently an awkward railing. Lots of storage in the bar for kitchen items. Big wine fridge where the kitchen desk currently is. Tear out the kitchen island because its a little too big for the space, and we will have the bar. Portable chef cart to go into formal

After nearly 4 years of hard work, literal blood, sweat and tears, failure and self doubt, finally came the culmination of a black belt for my son a couple weeks ago. I’m soooo fucking proud of him. I can’t even describe how great it felt seeing his Instructor finally tie that black belt around him after years of taking him to karate 4 days a week and endless tournaments and wiping away all of the blood, tears and snot off him from sparring matches, wins, losses and failed tests.

  27. Nightly stopped being a popculture discussion board years ago, it's down to just a handful of people who like talking to each other about movies and stuff. Trolls have all outed and flamed themselves out. None of us are interested in being an angst-filled anonymous place to yell at each other. So you come back 15 years later, still acting like a teenage edgelord, and you're mad that we're now just a small group of friends who are are adults talking about adult things, and it's our fault and we suck? Have you really run out of places to troll and you'd hoped we'd take your bait? If y
