  1. THE MURDEROUS HANDS OF DISNEY my all time favorite nightly quote

  2. Did you ever watch Krull? Those of us of a certain age will definitely have caught it I’m sure. Be interested in your thoughts as I recently caught it again while channel hopping (even though I have it on Blu-ray). It’s a funny one - clearly targets the OT Star Wars audience of the time (I was one of them in 1983! Would have been between 6 & 7 years old at the time!), but there are just some odd story elements in there that don’t suit that target (gruesome-ish deaths, a nastily described act of revenge from the widow in the web for example). A great cast (Liam Neeson & Robbie Coltrane in early roles and the lead Ken Marshall went on to have a recurring role in DS9, plus a number of other actors more well known to a UK audience maybe), giving it their all and soundtrack is very enjoyable (lots of Wrath of Khan moments as Horner had just done that films score the previous year). But just a few bits that stopped it breaking away from being just a cult film.

  3. My husband's boss has called him twice and he actually went out for a happy hour and left his work phone at home? I mean, to me it's a good thing but I'm petty and enjoying the fact that this guy can't get ahold of my husband and ruin dinner plans for the 5628th time. If that doesn't work, doggo on a boat.

  4. Dragonslayer! This movie was old but is amazeballs! I really enjoyed that it seems like a typical fantasy movie but subverts a lot of what you might expect from one. Like the princess offering herself up after she discovers her name wasn't included in the lottery and that the hero doesn't save her in time. The boy who is revealed to be a girl in disguise to avoid the lottery. Also, it was nice that instead of other villagers being pissed about finding that out that they were all like "Damn, that was smart of her dad". Plus, the wizard! The way he says at the beginning that he isn't worried about traveling so far but it's revealed he let himself be Obi-Waned so he could be brought back to help later. That was great! And then the king takes all the credit for the kill LOL. Effects weren't great for the dragon flying scenes but they were good for the fight in the cave and when it would rise up in front of someone. Highly recommended if you have never seen it!

  5. Those were exactly my thoughts while watching this. Two Jedi kill a New Republic crew right out in the open and break a prisoner out of the ship...and no one thinks it's a good idea to alert Luke? The episodes play as if Return of the Jedi didn't happen and we are stil in the Rebels timeline. Eveything is hush hush and Hera and Ahsoka are doing everything on their own.

  6. No, Zerimar was bitter Lucas had scrapped the EU from the slate. If that had continued he wouldn’t have given a crap.

  7. That one is on my list! I have a bunch of 80s movies queued up, amazing how many I have heard of but never seen. I just got crap from some older co-workers that I haven't even seen the old Friday the 13 movies. I think I only saw the Freddy vs Jason movie and the outer space one. Was deciding on a few at the moment, thinking of the OG F13, Rocky and Dead Heat. Might do Krull instead, now I have to add Excalibur because that looks good, too! I'll take all recommendations, no matter how bad!

  8. Who knew that selling off a beloved franchise to a massive corporation whose success is based around merchandising and constant iterations of product, would result in the accurate replication of surface level aesthetics and feel, but strip all soul and magic of said franchise? That's never happened before, surely. Zerimar. He knew, and he was right.

  9. I recently bought Dragonslayer on 4k and it is indeed awesome! It still holds up for sure. Another good one! I love to do a double feature of Krull and Excalibur when I rewatch them!

  10. I would entertain that theory because having post Emperor/Vader Inquisitors is odd. Though when you think about it how would Ezra be able to make it back and not Thrawn?

  12. Does anyone think the Inquisitorish type fellow is going to be Ezra? Giving me Silver Chair/Tron Legacy vibes.

  16. And what's the deal with these mutant kids being super strong when they grow up? The Barbarian movie had the same thing. I think in real life they would have all kinds of health issues LOL.

  17. I remember this one-- doesn't hold up as well as other 80s horror films. If you want a better, but still low-key, obscure, and lesser known anthology from the same time, try Stephen King/s Cat's Eye, which was totally overshadowed by Creepshow.
