  1. I'm glad you're getting help, but I also feel like there's a big issue that needs to be addressed: The most helpful people on Nightly aren't responding to you anymore. None of us men are nearly as qualified to give advice on this subject as the women are, but they don't respond to you anymore. And it isn't a big mystery why, because you refuse to listen to them, and if you treat women offline the way you treat them on here, no woman should ever date you. I certainly wouldn't introduce you to any of my single friends, and yet at the same time I'm in your corner because I really believe you

  2. We have running water and power now. So we're good to stay here. Noah lost his bed and dressers. He also lost a few games and card games and a lot of clothes. Most of the clothes were getting to be too small anyway since he's grown so much this past year (tweens...ugh) and the pandemic keeps us from being able to shop and try things on like normal. If you guys would like to contribute to Noah's new furniture and mattress or new clothing funds, I'm running out of reasons to not accept help(I'm really not good at accepting help, y'all. Really.) Our insurance deductible is $500 and I

  3. LOL! It is hard to maintain discipline! Usually I drive slower and tamer these days, but every now and again when it is an open road or low traffic, I let it rip. There's nothing like it. Last month, I went for a Sunday drive, and a BMW pulled up at a street light, and we raced. He did respectable, but I beat him decisively. At the next light, he asked me what I had under the hood, and I said a mostly stock 350, which I built for less than $1000.00. His jaw dropped because his BMW probably cost him at least $50k (I don't know BMWs well, but it was a full size variety). It was satisfying.

  4. Everyone pretty much said everything I would've. But I'll add this. Don't try get involved with a single mother. It's really really really really not a good idea. (I mean there are caveats to this statement, obviously, but as a rule of thumb it stands). There isnt really a way to explain this without sounding super patronising either. If you don't have kids you won't get it. And you won't till you have them. Just know that if someone has kids in their life you are going to be the absolute last thing on their list of priorities unless you are truly truly special to said person...which you're

  5. Still no water for us. I opened the windows today to get fresh air in the house. It's almost 60 right now. It's weird. I think 43 degrees is balmy. The cats are hyper because the windows are open. Today I'm going to try and turn the water on at the switch to my house and see if pipes have thawed out and if I don't have leaks so we can assess if I need to go somewhere to get a shower as school will start tomorrow. My Step-Mom told me we will be offensive to people in the grocery store today. I'm pretty sure EVERYONE in SA has bad hair and pimples and stinks a little. It was just so

  6. Oh man, I have always adored each and every one of those pieces! I'm telling you, some of the best Star Wars music came from the video games. Here is the entire Dark Forces orchestrated soundtrack (well, synthetically orchestrated, but it is still a big improvement over the midi originals):

  7. I Like this one quite a bit... Songs/themes from other movies that would have made good Star Wars themes. This one would make a great space battle scene involving 2 capital ships from opposing sides: Perfect for a battle scene involving legions of jedi VS a phalanx of Sith lords. I literally cannot listen to this song while driving, without fighting an urge to brandish a battle ax and behead other motorists on the interstate!

  8. Yeah, becoming single for the first time in a decade right as a pandemic kicks in has done a number on me too.

  9. That is pretty intense. Almost more like a horror theme. IMHO, this is a very Star Warsy theme. My favorite among the Star Wars Video Games I love this one too: A good theme, but just not "Star Warsy" enough for me: A little reminiscent of the Dual of the Fates, as well as Conan the Barbarian, And maybe even a Klingon Opera.... I just love this theme:

  10. It's not always about you, though, or what you did to "kill the attraction" or anything like that. She could be more interested in someone else. She could have decided now wasn't the right time for her to be dating after all. She may have had a heart attack and been in the hospital. It could be any number of things that have literally nothing to do with you. I really don't think there's anything for you to figure out here.

  12. First, was a mom? Second, none of those. They are both pretty cringy. What "research" are you reading? Third, if she was interested she would have gotten back to you. Fourth, if you are going to make a last ditch effort, just text her NOW you are interested in getting to know her and would love to meet up for coffee or whatever.

  13. So I laughed my ass off at Wanda in this one. The boys didn't really though. So I think it has more to do with being a mom who really has reached that point of insanity and loss of control that you can't even care what the kids are doing that I really connected with. Because I've been that low. I'm really about there now. I don't know what's going on. I don't know what to do. I'm not sure if I'm really connecting with reality atm. As long as my kids are alive, I really don't care what they're doing or if they've eaten or what. (My kids aren't starving or neglected, I promise. They're old enoug

  16. Thank you! It's my first car, and I have owned it since Nov 1987, but it hasn't been a daily driver since the 1990s. These days, I drive it 1 to 2 weekends a month. Occasionally, I'll drive it for a week. Right now, I have a 350 V8, but I am planning to upgrade to a 383 (stroked out 350, using a crank from a 400).

  19. I'm in the process of refinishing a cabinet that's built in to the wall in my living room. The inside is covered in four layers of ugly paint: off-white/beige on top, then a layer of that "Dusty Rose" color that was popular in the 1980s, then a BRIGHT yellow with a hint of green in it, and then more beige. The outside is just layers of off-white and a sort of pinkish beige, although some of the details seem to have been a dark green color at one point. That goes back to the 1920s, I'm guessing. You can see the details I uncovered that were hidden under the paint. When I'm done with all the str
