  1. For years I have been trying to land a gig in the mountains. I love Denver, but it is way too crowded. Most people, like myself, moved here to do cool outdoors stuff. But now even outdoorsy stuff is packed. It is a 2+ hour traffic jam to go skiing and then the lift lines are crazy. I finally landed the job I have been looking for in Durango, Colorado. Awesome mountain town (with a population of 20,000 plus a college of 4000 it is practically a megacity in the mountains) with a great ski resort within 20 miles so I am pretty excited. With that said, I am NOT excited about act

  2. We’ve all been here and it sucks. I was here a few months back myself. Six things I keep in mind: 1. People have lives. Especially single mothers. Just because I am available to text pretty much any ol time, I have to remind myself I am not aware of what other people’s lives are. ESPECIALLY right now. 2. The answering machine scene from Swingers should be a cautionary tale to all dudes who mean well but are lonely enough to have no chill. 3. The magic number is 2. Not 3, not 4. TWO points of contact with no response may not seem like a lot, but it’s the max amount pokes to

  3. It's not always about you, though, or what you did to "kill the attraction" or anything like that. She could be more interested in someone else. She could have decided now wasn't the right time for her to be dating after all. She may have had a heart attack and been in the hospital. It could be any number of things that have literally nothing to do with you. I really don't think there's anything for you to figure out here.

  4. So I made the local news and of course they use a picture of the school when they bought the building and before the renovations began... https://durangoherald.com/articles/365103

  6. @Cerina, we had a pipe bust in our garage. I grabbed three sticks of JBWeld and that did the trick. I knew what Lowe's and Home Depot would look like, so I went to AutoZone instead, knowing they have that type of stuff in stock. No line there. Nothing was picked over at the time either. I don't know if that will be enough to fix the leaks you are trying to fix, but its worth a shot. I would have hopped in here sooner and mentioned that to you guys, but we just got power + internet back recently. @Ms. Spam, if you need drinking water, firewood, or pantry food, let me know. I have a few 5-

  7. Well, you are not alone when it comes to dating dilemmas. I had plenty of them when I was younger while not in a committed relationship, as I am now. I only have one brother as a sibling. I think guys like me who are more introverted and never had a sister or a girl cousin as platonic friends to learn at a younger age how to relate to girls and women struggle more than guys who have female relatives that help them not be afraid to approach women and relate to them. If I ever found myself single heaven forbid, I would probably be lost because I haven't had to go on a date with someone new

  8. Totally get and understand that. I have been there, I’m an impatient control freak. It’s an important distinction though. I’m sure you’ve been in a place where you didn’t get a job and you think “how did I screw up that interview” instead of “somebody more qualified must have applied” right? Totally get it. A lot of us are great at beating ourself up. But in the case of dating this like double Jeopardy because if you stay in that space too long you will end up hating yourself AND hating women.

  9. You posted this while I was typing— but this exactly what I am talking about at the end. You are asking “what did I do wrong?” You are framing it around yourself. Maybe you did nothing wrong. Maybe her ex saw she went speed dating and swooped in with apologies and she is giving the father of her kids another chance. You have to stop robbing women of agency by thinking they make their choices based purely on what you have said or done. ...and little black books are creepy. If you pop up out of nowhere after a few months she won’t think that’s cute.

  10. No, I get you. I'm just trying to figure out where exactly I killed the attraction because, like I said, the results came back indicating that there was mutual attraction, at least at some point. I'm guessing it was either when I asked for her number (and got it), or simply that she wrote down her interest but then had a better connection with someone else.

  11. Also, just in my experience, the reason many women are less direct than men when it comes to saying they are not interested is a) they don't want to hurt your feelings b) they don't know how the guy is going to react, and they generally want to avoid conflict. One thing guys forget about, especially nicer guys, is that for women, a lot of guys come on strong and that can be off-putting. Some guys can even get aggressive and that can intimidate women when they are told she is not interested. Remember, domestic abuse is a real thing, and that is always in the back of the mind of a woman, when

  13. First, was a mom? Second, none of those. They are both pretty cringy. What "research" are you reading? Third, if she was interested she would have gotten back to you. Fourth, if you are going to make a last ditch effort, just text her NOW you are interested in getting to know her and would love to meet up for coffee or whatever.

  14. LOL! It was actually a CenturyLink (a cable/internet company) building. They are currently doing 3.5 million in renovations so it looks totally different now. That picture is from when they were in the paper for buying the property last year. After getting a moving estimate, it will be cheaper to sell most of our furniture and buy new than it will be to pay movers. Honestly, I am okay with this because of memories of certain people that have sat on/used the furniture.

  15. So I laughed my ass off at Wanda in this one. The boys didn't really though. So I think it has more to do with being a mom who really has reached that point of insanity and loss of control that you can't even care what the kids are doing that I really connected with. Because I've been that low. I'm really about there now. I don't know what's going on. I don't know what to do. I'm not sure if I'm really connecting with reality atm. As long as my kids are alive, I really don't care what they're doing or if they've eaten or what. (My kids aren't starving or neglected, I promise. They're old enoug

  16. Thank you. So most of this is also available on Amazon, but the delivery date is from the 27th into the first week of March. So that's not much faster. Now I'm not sure what to do. I'm sorry, y'all. It sounded like a good idea in my head. We don't even know which way is up lately. I didn't know that today was Friday until like 2 hours ago. Trevor actually called a customer to walk her through how to cut off her water and drain her pipes before the freeze tonight. She told him that she just was going to do what she did last night, and he kept thinking that was stupid since her pipe

  18. Okay...I’m looking at the list and looking up weight and the cost of shipping is considerably more than the items. So priority wise...what is some small stuff I can buy a lot of and ship for fairly cheap? Overnighting like a letter is $40. Just trying to see what I can get that will help the most.

  19. Thanks guys! I live over in the NE side close to NE Baptist on Starcrest and 410. Tina's dialysis is in Marymont tomorrow. I'm praying for non icy roads. We're good on supplies at least for a while. Just send super good jujus. Cereese if I had the money I would add to it. I am in the same boat and there's not much supplies to be had her in San Antonio.

  20. Ok, so this is basically what we need. 1/2" and 3/4" elbows, couplings, and pipes for copper pipes, CPVC pipes, and PEX pipes(tubes) fuel for brazing OR a new hose setup CPVC glue CPVC ball valves Full disclosure: most of the CPVC needs are for my cousin's house where my elderly grandparents are currently being housed, so I consider them mostly the most important. We can't find any of that here to get their water back on. Here's where things get kinda wonky. The PEX can replace copper pipes and is sold in a roll like water hose. It's more expensive but massively easier to ship
