  1. I lost my debit card over Labor Day weekend. I hardly ever use it unless a place doesn't accept American Express so I didn't notice it missing until my bank called me for a fraud alert. By that time, neraly $6000 was gone from my account. It was totally radom...the bulk was spent at Wal-Mart...multiple trips ranging from $5 to $1000 expenses. Lots of Subway and 7-11 trips. It was crazy. I went to the police and the detective said what likely happened was my card made its rounds in a local homeless camp. It was highly unlikely anyone would be caught for a variety of reasons. I

  2. This year is the 40th anniversary. Just bought tickets to a limited edition screening at IMAX Melbourne and looking forward to this screening more than any other movie I can think of recently. Greatest movie of all time? Might sound like hyperbole but there is not one scene in this movie I don’t love. I often see filmmakers reference the desert chase sequence as their favourite and what ultimately influenced them. . .I remember being 8 years old and totally in awe from that point to the end of the movie. Anyway, just something in tribute to the greatest Lucas/Spielberg creation. Anyo

  3. A thing about the movie that blew my mind was pointed out, years and years ago, by Ted Elliot & Terry Rossio on their website. So much of the movie is about Indy losing. He doesn't keep the idol at the beginning, can't bring himself to blow up the Ark, he pretty much never really wins any of the fight scenes outright (just manages to escape), the movie ends w/the Ark being sealed away. There were more examples, including a scene by scene breakdown, it's not all coming to mind for me at the moment. (P.S. I kind of like Last Crusade more so I guess that counts as them being able to top

  5. Not to derail too much, but I am finding myself continually disappointed and angry at how this vaccine rollout has gone at the micro-level. Hospital administration making sure they were vaccinated before ER doctors, friends and family getting vaccines before priority groups, etc. I'm actually pretty furious about how teachers under the age of 50 will not receive vaccines in our state until April, despite the pressure to re-open schools. And yesterday a friend who is a government auditor proudly announced she got her first dose because she "might" have to audit a hospital. The nepotism is disgu

  6. Well, the wallet turned up this morning. A good Samaritan was kind enough to bring it to the house. She said she found it lying in the grass by the social security office a few blocks away. I was not over there yesterday, so that means I dropped it on my street, and someone picked it up, stole the cash (it was missing), and then tossed it in the grass. Not surprising since nobody on my street has any honor anymore. Still, I'm glad it's back. Nothing else was missing.

  10. In ANH, we do have the context of the opening crawl. "Pursued by the Empire's sinister agents"...so we do know the bad guys are the ones doing the chasing. I also recall they dressed Vader in black because that is a traditional villain color. They used black for Luke in ROTJ to symbolize he is vulnerable to going to the dark side like his father but underneath the black was white to show he is still good. However, colors aside, even if you had no idea who Luke was while watching Mando, you did see that the heroes of Mando (Mando, Baby Yoda, Cara Dune) were in trouble and someone came to rescue

  11. Alright so my new thing these past nine or so months: After being stuck at home and missing live music, I wanted to pursue just doing something myself. I can play guitar but I'm terrible at it, and any attempt I've had in the past to work with buddies to play something together never went anywhere. So instead, I decided to start learning editing and mixing on DJ software. I'd seen a lot of people mix live on DJ boards in festival campgrounds at impromptu parties and always thought it was cool so I wanted to try i out. I know enough with creation tools to put a few things together here
