  1. I remember the vitriol Clinton got. Hell, I've mentioned before that I saw my first 'Impeach Clinton' bumper sticker in 1993, his first year in office, LONG before the actual impeachment. Clinton got accused of everything, up to and including MURDER. The criticism of Bush originally stemmed from the results of the 2000 election, how the Supreme Court stopped the recount and declared Bush the winner. That caused a lot of complaints and feelings that he was illegitimate. Others may or may not agree, but it at least has roots in an understandable place. From there on, the criticism was mostly,

  4. Well of course they won. They have all the weapons, money, intimidation tactics, payoffs and was the only group with strength. If I was stuck in that shit hole I would pick them too. They give the people the ability to stick it to Israel. Like I said earliet the radicals on both sides will keep this conflict going long after we are dead.

  5. Cut all diplomatic ties and stop giving aid to either side. Let them kill each other until everybody is dead or they get too tired and move on to other things. Resume relations, offer help rebuilding, etc...

  6. The whole problem to me stems from the original two state deal not happening after the creation of Israel. The U.N. needs to step in a go through with creating a Palestinian state. However we all know that the root of the problem is that the radicals on the Jewish and Palestinian sides that will never allow peace to happen. So what is the best solution? Toss up to me. You have Hamas who is nothing more than a friendly neighborhood terrorist group who help the people in Gaza and at the same time cause innocent people there harm by using human shields, storing weapons in schools knowing fu

  7. Ebola was in the US a few years ago, but it was isolated to animals, no reported human cases. So yeah, it's a virus assume it will travel if not already has. The issue with Ebola is it's high fatality rate combined with transmission as simple as touching bodily fluids. It can even be caught by handling recently killed animals who carry. Combine that with early symptoms looking like the FLU and you have a deadly sickness just waiting to get out. Recently an Ebola carrier, who eventually died, already managed to get on a commercial flight... into Sierra Leone if I recall right. It just tak

  8. Saw this today and really enjoyed it! Great funny bits, mainly with Peter, and some good action sequences. Everyone looked like they were having a damn good time! Also: Jackson 5 sequence! :-)

  9. The comparisons come from media sensationalizing. Yes, Ebola is terrible, as was SARS , MARS and last I heard, AIDS still sucks. But the media acts like if these things land in America THOUSANDS will die. The countries where these things thrive don't have the ability to quarantine or have access to the medical care we do. Yes these things suck if you get them, and it sucks that some people will-- but it's not going to be like The Stand like the news wants you to believe.

  12. More than just cutting aid to either side. Launch an embargo. Forbid any company from doing business with either side. Freeze any assets Israeli citizens or Palestinians have outside of Israel. Cut both sides off from the world outside as much as possible. That is the only way to hope to achieve peace. Only when neither side has allies they can run and hide behind will they both be forced to achieve a peaceful solution. Until then, the extremists that control both peoples will continue to do everything possible to prevent peace.

  14. For the hicks who think "ultimate fighting" and the WWE are the pinnacles of human entertainment forms, fighting on the House and Senate floors would make rednecks pay attention to government again. They may accidentally learn something, too. Bring back dueling and we may end up with a functional government, again, too. It'd be an interesting social engineering experiment, at the very least.

  18. I am not saying I support this satanist exhibit. I really couldn't care less. I just love the freak show of it all, and just love the ridiculousness of the statue itself. Even if it does somehow get put up, I give it no more than 24 hours before some mob of fundy Christians hack it down with blowtorches. I mean this is Oklahoma we are talking about, and like the article says, it doesn't get more Bible belt than that. That said, my opinion of satanists is a rather low one: I think they are all a bunch of hard ons. What I know of Satanism, LaVeyan or otherwise, is insipid, selfish, and s
