  1. Today
  2. I grabbed a few more dresses from Target since I was doing a pickup for shoes for Q. Ugh. Everything looked huge and ridiculous. I need to try on some of what I already own and see if I still fit it and if I can wear a cover with it to hide my scars.
  3. Yesterday
  4. Ooh - that’s a nice set. Did buy that one - not sure where it is at the mo, up in the loft no doubt!
  5. I bought a dress for our vacation. I hate clothing shopping. My boobs fit nothing. I even went to the plus section to see if that would help. Then everything was just shaped like a garbage bag. And I need sleeves because my skin cancer scars are still so purple. People tell me I shouldn't worry about it but it scares my kids when they see them. And floral is in again. FML. I hate patterns but I hate paisley and floral with a passion. Q tried so hard to pick out a floral dress for me, I didn't have the heart to tell her I hate floral.
  6. There’s also a hell according to Han.
  7. It is. I garden in it already. I also bought a purple one that’s like shorts. All cotton!
  8. There's frogs and snakes and iguanas seen on Dagobah, too. Real world animals and concepts have existed in Star Wars since the beginning.
  9. It was Captain Panaka who mentioned sitting ducks in TPM. Incidentally, there is a line in the original 1977 Star Wars novelization where Kenobi mentions that "Even a duck has to be taught to swim" to Luke Skywalker.
  10. Last week
  11. I struggled due to all of the characters kinda being the same and, to make it more challenging, most of the characters in the book have Chinese names. It got easier as it went on. Try to stay with it. I read the episode descriptions so I have a general idea of where this season ends so I don't think they will get very far in the main plot past the first book...but the series does not go in the direction you think it does. There is a quick one minute scene that I think was in episode 2 that has the smallest scene of foreshadowing. This is by far, the most creative and insane alien invasion story and absolutely does not go like you think it will and includes the coolest weapon I have ever heard of (and it isn't just more death stars).
  12. Two episodes in and it’s interesting. I tried reading the book but I think I’m too dumb for it. I’m getting dumber the older I get.
  13. RFK Jr. choosing the former Rebbetzin Google as his running mate! Weird! What a world! Well, the future seems obvious from here. RFKII wins in a landslide and takes the oath of office on January 20 2025. And then, oh no, he is tragically assassinated. A nation mourns! President Shanahan outlaws autism.
  14. I’ll see your wager of Star Trek 3 and raise with the Star Wars Trilogy. Actually, I might check out that Soundtrack. It looks like it could be very good.
  15. Hobbes

    The Acolyte

In TPM, wasn't there a line from ObiWan about being sitting ducks and all of a sudden people were arguing if ducks were in the SW universe. Anywho, this is the movie/ series I have been the most excited for since Disney took over. My hope is that I have been so disappointed recently, hopefully it will temper my expectations.
  16. I binge read this trilogy two years ago and was totally obsessed for a year. I even bought the author approved fan fiction novel. I was super skeptical when I found out Netflix was picking it up, but hearing the GoT guys were doing it (they did well with ASoIaF when they had the source material and weren't rushing to do a SW series) made me feel better. I saw the reviews were excellent and the series is pretty much the first book (and my least favorite of the trilogy) so I decided to try it last night. I was up till three. Since it is less than a week old--non-spoiler thoughts: My biggest gripe of books is there aren't any characters who are in all three books even when the characters story lines were happening in similar timelines. I like that these characters are starting their story now. Similarly, almost all of the characters in the book lack depth (I want to say it is because it is lost in translation--but I hear similar criticisms from readers whom read it in Mandarin) but the script and actors give these characters so much more depth. There were book characters I didn't really like, but I love in the series. I really don't have any criticisms (four episodes in) , but I agree with what some of the critics are saying--that after the first few episodes it becomes difficult to follow. I didn't have this problem, but I agree that if you never read the books, a lot of plot lines are difficult to follow.
  17. Go on social media for a bit and you'll find yourself asking this question.
  18. I’m giving another shout out to ST3 - this disk set in particular is so nice and very relaxing to listen to when working. Will be quoting the dialogue away! ST2 is the best film combo without doubt (all the pieces work so well), but I just feel ST3’s score works even better with nods to 2. Lovely stuff! Currently playing as you might guess!
  19. We decided to keep it sideways because it actually worked better. And yes, the cabinet panels are pricy. We wanted to do them for our refrigerator and the cabinet company said no because they were worried they would break at the size we needed. Apparently you can't go much wider than 24 inches or something because the wood can twist and break if torqued too much, so we went with stainless steel panels. But it ended up being ok because the wine fridge has a big glass panel.
  20. I still think it’s stupid as all hell that Cody needs to win the tag match on night 1 so that there won’t be interference in his one-on-one match on night 2. As if interference is usually approved of and okay.
  21. Who Wants to Live Forever? It's such a perfect song for Highlander. Queen really nailed it!
  22. Frontier is my current broadband provider. I've been on Fios way back when it was Verizon. The internet service is awesome, but when it came to getting rid of movie channels and other stuff to cut the costs, they really just started giving us less for the same price. Cable companies are horrible. We have 4K Netflix, Roku and Hulu. I'll take that for $160 a month. The Stars are being aired on ESPN+ tonight, and it turns out that the Mavs are being aired on TNT.
  23. Nearly $300? Hell we were paying $320 lol. We just switched to Frontier from Spectrum. We got all the same channels and went from 500mb Internet to 1gb with DirecTV for $210. We watched too many channels to cut the cord. Or my wife watches too many channels.
  24. We cut the cord years ago. I got tired of paying nearly $300 a month for cable and internet. I kept the internet, subscribed to Hulu with Disney+ and ESPN+. We had HBO for a while, but I got tired of paying for movie service with commercials. So no, I'm not paying Bally's $20 a month for their service.
