picked it up today

watching the intro was like watching the opening scrawl of the phantom menace for the 1st time (and there the comparisons stop!)

it's awesome

graphics are so polished. the pop up texture are virtually gone (if you look hard enough you can just see them very briefly, but you really need to look)
the level of detail has been increased 10 fold. when you run into an old friend in the opening combat mission, you really see how much extra details been added.

the controls have been tweaked slightly, you'll have a few "doh" moments for a little bit whilst you get used to them, but ultimately they work
haven't came across a vehicle mission yet, so i cant comment on that so far. but it would be hard not to improve that as it was by far the worst part of ME1

voice acting is immense. MARTIN SHEEN!! president bartlett rules!
and the token appearance from claudia black (valla in sg1)
is there any game she isn't in these days? (bayonetta, dragon age, uncharted 2, mass effect 2 in the last 3 months alone)

the downside?
get this.....
the game is 2 discs
if you install them both, you still need to swap out to disc 2 part the way through AND THEN back to disc 1 for the end
what mong thought that up???

still it's a minor niggle. swapping a disc every 15 hours i can live with, if not understand

anyway, i'm away back to play!

would it not make sense to use the code before finishing DA, so you can use the armour there as well??

anyways...just finished it. stunning game

depending how a few other play throughs go, it may even topple fallout 3 as my favourite rpg

i dunno about finishing it on insanity mind you, it was no cakewalk on normal!

I've used the DA code.

My response was for Reality, in that he wanted to know if any DA owners wanted to give up their ME2 armor code.

there's only one code for both

I can't believe I missed that. I was thinking the code was for ME2 only, and was a bonus for DA owners. :hail:

I guess I'd better download the code now. I can always use the armor on the next playthrough. ;)

I finished it yesterday. Played it two days straight. I freaking love this game. Awesome story. Truly is an Empire Strikes Back type game. Take note Lucas!

I'm close going through the Omega 4 Relay. I'm guessing it's like Ilos, in that I have to finish all my business before passing through.

Gotta go do the Legion loyalty mission, then I'm off to the races.

And yes - doing the insanity play-thru when I'm done. I should only have the Warp, Inceneration, and Power Gamer achievements left once I beat it this go round and start insanity.

Actually got it today. Only got to play for half an hour though. I will say this: The opening of the game maybe the best opening I've seen in a video game. Absolutely blew me away. Looks like they fixed the shadow problem from the first game too. Fantastic!

Finished it last night. Awesome. Managed to keep everyone alive, but I confess I did reload when my first squadmate bought it. After that it was plain sailing.

So who 'cheated' on their ME1 love interest? After Liara blew me out I went with Tali. She's a cool character. Wonder what will happen between the two of them in ME3?

Gonna reroll as femShep and play as renegade next.

I went with Miranda. I loved every bit of this game. The characters, voice work, and the intensity was awesome.

I beat it last night. Everyone lived, but on the Normandy crew I lost Kelly and the cook (whatever his name is). I even watched The Collectors turn Kelly into mush right in front of me :(

I know what I did wrong though - I did two side missions after The Collectors hit the Normandy, which I will NOT do on my Insanity play-thru. Gonna do all that I can BEFORE hijacking the Reaper IFF, then make the Omega 4 Relay jump immediately after they hit the ship. I mean I'm ASSUMING they have to hit the ship, but maybe if I hit the relay sooner then they might not..?

Oh yeah...all of my crew survived the mission on my first play-thru, and so did I :D Tali hit the vents, and Garrus led the first team. Then Samara did my shields while Garrus led again, and Jacob went back with my team to the ship. I had Miranda and Mordin with me the whole time, as her Warp and his Incineration made it easy to burn through (lol) the Collectors.

Only achievements I'm missing: Insanity, Inceneration Specialist, Warp Specialist, and Weapon Specialist. Got the rest, including the Zaeed DLC and his loyalty mission worth 15 points, on the first play-thru.

Here's a heads up - you can romance Kelly an whatnot like you did Ashley and Liara in ME1, but you can NOT get Paramour for it because she's not a member of your squad. Normandy crew, yes...but not your actual squad.

Also...UPGRADE YOUR SHIP AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE before hitting the Omega 4 Relay.

That's what I did, anyway ;)

Almost similar. I upgraded the important things to the ship only. Kelly Lived with my play through. Thane was the only casualty of my crew as he sacrificed himself to help save Miranda who I got down and dirty with. Gonna try again and see if there is any way to get Ashley again.

Question: Is the Zaeed & Normandy crash-site add-ons one that everyone gets? Or did I get it by ordering through a certain place?

Cool. I guess they just want everyone to sign up for EA online.

BTW, loving, loving, loving the game! I just picked up Jack. I got the krogan to get, then my current list is done.

Krogans on Insanity are a BITCH, just like on ME1. My answer? The Collector particle beam :)

Unlocking Mordin for my Insanity play-thru was a must, so he was my first stop. Gonna use him and Miranda and I'll have all I need for Insanity...I'm a Soldier w/ Barrier and Adrenelin Rush. Marinda has Warp and Overload, and Mordin has Incineration...that takes care of all enemies Shields, Barriers, and Armor. I'm all set for this.

Still having trouble pondering over where to find the 7th rifle upgrade. Found a comprehensive list online of all side missions, hidden and non-hidden, so hopefully I'll find that 7th upgrade this time arond. It's one of only 4 achievements I have left.

...loves the particle beam too ^^

I'm on my first play-thru on goodie goodie gum drops path. Will post more once I've finished it the first time. I'm homing in on Kelly... she's going to be my one true love haha :)

BTW does the difficulty level mean anything? On normal atm.
